Rationale...
We live in an ever shrinking world. Our students are no longer simply residents of Fayetteville, Arkansas. They are truly members of a global community. The availability of technology both at home and at school, has opened our students' eyes to opportunities that seemed impossible in years past. The diversity of our community exemplifies the global mobility that has become common place. Northwest Arkansas is the fastest growing area of the state, with a metro population of 443,976 (2010). Fayetteville is home to the University of Arkansas, the largest university in the state. The university hosts a growing number of international students and faculty, manages various exchange programs for visiting international pre-service and veteran teachers, and provides degrees in several international programs of study. Our neighboring cities are home to many international corporations including the world's largest retailer, Wal-Mart.
