Ramay Junior High School benefits from a well equipped modern technological environment. Below you will find a partial inventory of the resources available to our faculty and students to enhance their educational experiences as of September 2013. Due to the school and district administrations' commitment to 21st Century preparedness, this inventory is constantly upgrading.

operating systems, and equipment are available for faculty and student use at Ramay Junior High?
Our school has a Technology Coordinator whose primary role is to foster the use of technology in the classroom by working directly with teachers to
introduce new technological avenues for instruction, providing training on new resources, and assisting with implementation.

* 1 Mac Computer Lab which contains 11 Mac computers with internet connectivity and Photoshop software

How does Ramay Junior High School make use of school, teacher and/or district websites?
* Ramay primarily utilizes the district, school, and teacher websites as a way of distributing information.
* Each student and faculty member has password protected storage space on the district server to save work that can be accessed within the
network or via the internet outside of the network.
* All grade records are maintained utilizing Pinnacle software. This allows viewing access to parents and updating access to teachers via the
internet.
* Student lunch money accounts are also available to parents online for deposits and account balance information.
How does Ramay Junior High School currently utilizing technology for learning?
* Ramay teachers and students have a relatively abundant supply of technology available for learning activities. The Ramay faculty strives to
make learning exciting and relevant by connecting students to real world situations in which the skills and knowledge gained will be utilized.
* Webcams are utilized to connect Pre-AP English Classes with English classes in Mugla and Instanbul, Turkey. These students share folk
tales from their home countries and discuss the common elements. Our Ramay students have also utilized Skype to peer review
paragraphs written by the Turkish students.
* Social Studies classes utilize Primary Source as a method of connecting students with authentic sources of information on historical events.
* Science classes utilize electronic probes in environmental field research.
* The yearbook staff utilizes design software and web-based design tools to design and publish the yearbook.
* Math teachers utilize interactive calculator communication systems and graphing calculators (with connective capabilities) to enhance
instruction.
What E-learning sites are available to enhance learning and instruction?
* Skype – Free online audio and video calling. The service is free for Skype account holders to contact other Skype account holders on-line.
* iEARN – The world's largest non-profit global network that enables teachers and youth to use the Internet and other technologies to
collaborate on projects that enhance learning and make a difference in the world.
* ConnectAllSchools – A number of organizations linking US schools with others around the world are coming together in a new "Connect All
Schools" consortium to meet a very specific goal: to connect every school in the US with the world by 2016.
* Peace Corps Speakers Match – Speakers Match helps to connect returned Peace Corps Volunteers with those who want to hear about
Peace Corps experiences.
* ePals - Focused on the K-12 market, ePals offers elementary and secondary school administrators, teachers, students, and parents
worldwide a safe and secure platform for building educational communities, providing quality digital content and facilitating collaboration for
effective 21st century learning.
* Global Nomads Group – An international non-profit organization whose mission is to foster dialogue and understanding among the world’s
youth. GNG engages and empowers young people worldwide using media, including: interactive videoconferencing, webcasting, social
networking, gaming, and participatory filmmaking.
* Primary Source – Primary Source promotes history and humanities education by connecting educators to people and cultures throughout the
world. In partnership with teachers, scholars, and the broader community, Primary Source provides learning opportunities and curriculum
resources for K-12 educators.
* Edutopia – This program, sponsored by the George Lucas Educational Foundation, is dedicated to improving the K-12 learning process by
documenting, disseminating, and advocating innovative, replicable, and evidence-based strategies that prepare students to thrive in their
future education, careers, and adult lives.
* Outreach World – A comprehensive one-stop resource for teaching international and area studies and foreign languages in the
pre-collegiate classroom.
* Global Education Conference - The Global Education Conference is a collaborative, inclusive, world-wide community initiative involving
students, educators, and organizations at all levels. It is designed to significantly increase opportunities for building education-related
connections around the globe while supporting cultural awareness and recognition of diversity.
* Edmodo - Provides a safe and easy way for your class to connect and collaborate, share content, and access homework, grades and school
notices.
